  • Trex 450 pulsing..NEED HELP!

ok so i went to the park today after getting a Trex 450 sev2

Fully set it up and its so smooth its unbelievable.

However im running in Normal mode a throttle curve of 0 60 80 90 100.

Got a 450 xl motor and a Align bl35x ESC....

The packs im running are 11.1 v 2200 mah.

It has a voltage regulator of 5.1 from esc to reciever.

    The pinion is 12 tooth.

So my problem is the packs are lasting about 3 mins and the motor is pulsing???

    Its is the esc??? PINION???

    NEED YOUR HELP BIGTIME????

Have a look at the esc set up & make sure it's using all the default settings. These should be fine.
Yes the big sigpic is coming back

          Hi,

There could be a number of reasons:

The ESC (assuming it is the Align 35amp) has three battery safety cut-off settings (60%/65% and 70%) - it might be possible that the setting is wrong look at the manual here: Align Manual

It could be that the lipo is faulty or near the end of its life - how much charge are you putting back into it? Is it well balanced?

One other reason could be that the there is too much friction between the main pinion and the main drive, this will mean the motor has to work "too hard" and will therefore draw more current and reduce battery life. The rule of thumb is to be able to put a small bit of paper between the pinion and the main drive which sets the right gap for the mesh. Once set just turn the main gear and the bit of paper will fall out leaving the right gap.

I'm sure others will come up with more reasons!

          Good luck.
          Simon

Im thinking the esc needs to be set.

                After all.

I think the option of 70% battery rate is on.....maybe i need some new packs....
