  • Advice on throttle servo please.

Hi guys im building my nitro heli Ely Q comp, have a TT redline for it but would like some opinions on a throttle servo, more specificaly what to look for in one ie speed is it important if so whats the ideal target speed and is there evidence/opinion on full size mini or micro.

    Thanks

So faster is better then?? i was wondering because a fuel powered engine respond generaly slower (although fractionaly) to say an electric, i was concerned going to fast my cause the engine to be choked by opening the needle to quickly??

Opinions vary on this. Personally I don't think you need a rapid-quick servo, as the engine will not respond that quickly. The servo will not be under a heavy load either.
I'll be interested to read what the Aces think.

Something like the 620 will do just fine!! You'll be wasting your money getting anything faster... You just DO NOT need it!

              3001!
or if you want to be flash, a Ds820 (spektrum)

Now let someone with a flash throttle servo on their heli demonstrate the difference (there won't be any).

Again DS620 will be great. I have the throttle lead the pitch as that is how I was taught to set up. As said above by Coptermanic, some people dont think it matters to much as the engine still takes time to speed up. That is very valid point but surely its better to wait for the engine than the servo?

Just to add to the query, does anyone dual link their throttle with a servo wheel. I have only been using an arm and single link, but most engines have a dual arm lever.
