What to do????

I have a dilemmer, I sold my Blitz Avro as I want to move to a 90 size electric.

Looked at the Avant Aurora website, they said it would be released 90 days after IRCHA. Thought, yes great, bought a 110HV ESC, and a scorpion 4035-500 motor.

This was a month ago and now realised that Avant dont respond to emails and that they are keeping all potential customers in the dark. (a complete change from Blitz helicopters!!). And that people have waited for up to 2 years for an Avant.

I am thinking of these options:

1. Just be patient and wait, weeks, months, years! for the Aurora.

or say **** 'em and get a

2. 700E conversion
3. Rave ENV
4. Just get another Avro and stick to nitro for a while!

Dont know if the motor/esc would be suitable for the 700E or the Rave ENV?

Any suggestions????

Hmmmm, Avant are a nightmare trust me lol.

I had a 4035 500 with a CC 110hv in a 700.

If I were doing it now I would do a 700LE conversion Like Richy_UK got. They use the kontronik gear which is around 1hp more than what I had. There is a vid of Jamiem flying it on here somewhere

Go for the lecky Rave in my opinion - I know it's a new kid on the block, but with Curtis' input, it promises to be well suited to all flying styles, just like the Vibe 903D is/was.

It looks like it will be JR build quality at almost Align prices.

But do you think the build quality is likely to be like the 700? If it's a similar layout to a tried and tested design then great.

It certainly has a lot of the old Vibe about it, and the 700 and the Raptor with the over-head flybar. Apparently the over-head flybar design does 2 things - it improves the tracking (good for FAI stuff) and lowers the model's c/g by bringing the main blades and grips down a bit (good for 3D).

Time will tell, and the proof of the pudding will be in the support and spares availability.

You could get back in the air with a Knight 3D thats local to you with the running gear you have left

I wouldnt get the Avant after all the grief and hassle I have seen going on, the Rave looks like a good choice (which you could order then fly say a Knight till it turned up LOL)

Thats the problome with Avant. If you already have one, you get the best customer service out there. The problem is getting one in the first place though

I like the look of the Rave, and like the fact that Curtis will actually respond to my emails!. This may also be a better choice for F3C also.

I am gonna pre order one tomorrow.

Thanks for the Knight offer Jason! Gonna save my pennies for decent canopy for the Rave!!!! (the standard one is very boring!)

...they are famous for their icredible delays to market aren't they? how many years late was the Aurorra?
