  • Pitch curve setup advice

    I am just finishing my first build and set up on a copterx 450.
    I got all servos @90 mid stick and swash plate level.
    Checking the pitch and adjusting one link i have these
    zero= -7
    mid= -0
    full=+10
    Are these ok I dont fly 3d in fact Iam #rap
    When i set pitch curves up in norm and stunt what do i need at what points etc
    Also throttle curves what do i need to do?
    I would like not to been to quick just stable.
    I could ask some at the club as they set my raptor up but i need to do it my self or i will never learn.

    -7 Seems an awful lot of neg pitch for a heli that wont be flying 3D
    I think you run the risk of powering it into the ground with that much
    Hopefully the experts will chime in here, but I suspect -1 to -2 would be sufficient.
    I'm sure they will correct me if I'm wrong.

      I'm running my 450 at -2, 0, +10. These curves are true for all my switch positions, i.e. normal and idle-up 1 and 2.

      I also have expo set to 20%.

        Those settings will be fine Chris, just adjust the normal mode pitch curve so that at bottom stick it's around 25% - 30%, giving you -2 or -3 pitch.

          Ok I think I have got this
          In Norm I have
          L 37.5% which is giving me 2.or 3deg
          1=41.5% i put this in so it has some curve
          2= 50%
          3=75%
          h=100%
          I do need to get small pitch gauge to be spot on I am using the one i have for the raptor.

          So now i need to copy these into stunt mode ?
          What do i do with throttle curves?
          My raptor flys around 1900 rpm not sure what it should be for copterx 450 Using 13t pinion.
          Thanks so far I have to get this done be the misuss fines out what I have been doing alday Ha

            Almost there, but you should have some negative at bottom stick, at least -2 or -3 just so you can get it down if its windy, then have 0 or +1 at mid.

            In stunt modes just have the pitch curves at 45 degrees 0% to 100%, that way when you switch to stunt 1 and 2 you still have your -7 pitch if you need it.

            Throttle curves are not so easy to do without seeing the heli, it depends on the Tx etc but I'm sure if you put that info up someone can give you a starting point.

                That'll be fine for pitch then. My TR450 norm throttle curve is 0, 40, 75, INH, 100 but I only really fly in stunt 1 or 2 which are simple V's 100,80,100 and 100,90,100. However if youre just starting out with it then you might be better off with something like 0, 55, 60, 65, 90 so that the throttle is not to lively through the hovering position.

                  For your throttle curve iin stunt mode you need to raise the lower half points 1 and 2 above 50% and also 3 really a full on 3D curve is usually a flat 100% across all points and sometimes a slightly lower mid [point to avoid over speeding at 0 pitch, but you wont need that try 100,90,85,90,100 as your first "3D Curve" and adjust as you get used to it.

                      Ok I get the idea if i set stunt 2 100,90,85 this is mid stick? 90,100.
                      Leave throttle curve @-7 0 +10
                      And norm @ linear 45%
