  • What blades, T600N ??

    Hi,

I've just bought a T600N and it has Align 600D Pro blades on it which are going to be way to stiff for my level of flying. So I was after some recommendations of some slightly less hard core, CF blades that I can put on whilst I'm still getting used to how the 600 flys.

I have no particular brand loyalties so a good balance of budget and performance will win out.

I may even sell the 600D Pros if I can get enough for them to cover the costs of the new set.

Alternatively WHY? I'll happily use s/h 'as new' condition blades.

    cheers

    EDIT :

MODs... on refection maybe I should have put this in the Blades section. Please feel free to move it there if you wish. ta

I would get some thunder tiger glass fibre blades, less than the carbons but still capable of mild 3d.

I was using Torsion Blades, Fibre Glass 600mm on my raptor to learn with. very happy with them and was doing loops, rolls, stall turns, tic toc etc no problem. Plus they are only £35 a set

Me personally, would leave the ones on it,on it....maybe worth getting some softer head dampers instead?

VBControl, but not the gay white version as i'm simply not gay enough to pull it off!

good thinking, it does have hard dampers in it now so maybe a set of the grey, 70(whatever) dampers will tone it down a bit.

            thanks

Certainly the cheaper option...600Ds are nice to learn with as they create a white disc thats easy to see....i found dark blades are hard to see,i remember the ones i bought for my old B400,they didnt last long

I'll swop you a set of woody's for them ;-). Seriously the 600D's are lovely blades, they work really well with the 600

Hi Martyn, I would suggest you fly the heli first as is and see what you think. If you run the settings we talked about I think you will be surprised how stable it is even with those blades and stiff dampers.

                    Your probably right.

I feel like I've just passed my test and I'm about to jump on Rossi's Grand Prix bike.

The torsions are quite an aggressive blade with a rearward C&G and a bit lively.

SAB's, NHP's are good all round.

Other things I would look at

Keep your headspeed at a sensible level
Reducing the Cyclic and Pitch % and a little Expo
                      400mm flybar
Rounded leading edge paddles like Raptor 16g/20g work well for a soft feel

                      Hope that helps you

Brian, I've got the original 600 paddles which I will re-fit as it's got align carbons on it ATM and Pete did say about getting the slightly heavier Raptor paddles which I might do.

Aiming for about 1800 head speed to start with.

You might have to try the headspeed, you tend to get a bit of a wobble around there especially with the harder dampers.

Whilst we are talking about blades, I find my 600 is smoother and better behaved with the 600D's on and the carbon paddles. I found that the Torsions and standard paddles made the heli pitch up in ff and a little bumpy in the hover, as Barney says above this was probably due to the Torsions.

1850 is OK for general plopping, and my Idle 1 goes up to 1950, idle 2 2050, under governor. Stick with the 600Ds, they are a good all-round blade.
