  • E-Sky Neck-Straps

I've just gone off these severely.

Surprisingly for E-Sky, they've seemed to be quite good. Until now...

I've just had the clip fail catastrophically, and drop a DX7 on the floor - fortunately I wasn't flying at the time.

Amazingly, the DX7 (which bounced down the carpeted corridor) seems unscathed.

On examination, there's hardly any material on the clip where it failed. I think I'll avoid these in future.

I had the same problem with my Futaba neckstrap and dropped Tx a few times .

Solution : Araldited a small piece of 1mm thick aluminium metal slightly wider than the clip and it cured the problem

    Added bonus
: It also works as a safety catch - to remove Tx, you have to open the clip otherwise the Tx will have to stay put!

    Hope this helps you.

When I say the clip, I don't mean the gate on the clip - I mean the whole bit of metal that the Tx hangs from.

The whole hooked part broke off.

        thats bad luck m8...

even tho i always use a strap at all times i never let go of my tranny, ive always at least 1 hand holding onto it, its just there for if one day it slips out of my hands hopefully it will save it hitting the ground.

That's bad luck mate -you'll have to get a new one unless you can salvage it. In fact I was thinking of replacing the hook with a good quality key ring or dog chain most of them have a good quality locking system. May be worth a visit to your local pet shop.

I never felt the need to using a neck strap while flying full Monty planes and gliders but soon realised, for heli, neck strap is a must. It makes life easier and I now have sufficient confidence in the neck strap that I let my Tx dangle from it.

Thanks for letting me know, i rely on a neckstrap to take the full weight as i cannot hold it.
              Thanks,
              Jake!

In days when I didn't know any better, I had some of their helis. Yes, pretty crap (though the co-axes weren't that bad.)

However, the neck-straps have always seemed surprisingly nice. The clip in particularly, as it was easy to use, and worked well.

It wasn't until it broke that it became clear that there really wasn't much metal taking the load.

NB, I've seen apparently the same clips on other neck-straps. BuzzFlyer/Walkera, probably.

I've also seen some quite experienced pilots using the E-Sky straps. Which is why I posted.
