What do you do? I started my own IT company last May. Don't get me wrong I'm not making a mint but I'm my own boss and fly when I like. I love it and at the end of the day if I can survive the recession then things are good.

Theres jobs buddy, I was in the same boat. Well I was made redundant for about 5-6 weeks I had no work but I kept happy and didnt get depressed.
On the last week on unemployment I sent an online application for work at sainsburys the next satuday I went for an interview and I got it, was very happy with that considering it was only my second proper interview. Now that monday after, my work phoned me up and asked if I wanted my job back I couldnt believe it, it was the worst feeling ever turning down a new job becasue I knew people in your and my position would jump at a chance to start earning again, well I took my old job back and started the next day, the following day I was told I had got the other job as ive already said, so although this might p*ss you off, theres always a job, you may not like it but better things always come to those who wait.
        Chin up buddy

in the south there is plenty of care work but thats not for me ty, just not that sort of person ,i have lost count on the job apps i have filled in. i have joined a agency and still no joy and to be honest the jobs you see in like friday add etc they are 85% agency jobs so you go there fill in the forms and get told all the position are filled and we will let you know >< i have even looked at cleanning jobs and to get a steady wage i would have to take on about 10 differant cleanning jobs and this is hard as most are at mornning or night so to get 10 or more is not going to happen.
i did how ever pass my food health and hygine level 2 today as mine was out of date
but i guess i will just keep trying and stay positive as
Jerry Maguire would say SHOW ME THE MONEY

Exactly stay positive, I know its easy to say for me but ive been in that position and staying positive helps loads especially when going to interviews etc, Just when it looks bleak something always comes along thats how life works .

I know where you are mate. I was out of work for 12 weeks before landing my current job, which is crap really but helps pay the bills. You've got to keep searching mate. I applied for over 600 jobs online and got interviewed for one which I didn't get. Funnily enough the job I got now was only because my sis in law is the recruitment manager. Keep yer chin up pal, something will come up.
