  • Got a Mate Airborne....

Had a really satisfying weekend! A great mate of mine finally got the heli bug this Christmas and got a MSR to fly around the house. He had flown Phoenix on my laptop previously and decided he would buy himself a copy a couple of weeks ago.

He spotted me packing the car this Saturday and asked to come along. So I packed the second DX7 and buddy lead and off we went.

Now currently all I have to fly is my comp TREX 700 so I gently reminded Matt that if he killed it that our friendship was in serious jeopardy

Anyway two tanks and he was off, taking off, hovering really nice and landing! I was well impressed and ..... well pooing it a bit too.

It's a great feeling to get someone airborne and I know many people on this forum would have done this many times but it's a first for me really so I was well chuffed.

Here's a picture of Matt (not Mattie) coming back from his first "complete" flight. Happy days!

The canopy looks great. There are numerous vids of it flying

I have to agree with you guys, to fly a 700 as your first real heli, that's nice going!

                              Nice one Richie

We had a new member come down to the field on Saturday, after 3 tanks, he was hopping about on the training gear (He had never flown before or used a sim) So it was a rewarding achievement for him to actually get the heli a couple of inches off the ground on his first day and as you say Richie, its rewarding to help someone else.
                              Thanks, Chris
