  • Gyro Cover

    Hi everyone...

I read a post here where someone had a blade hit his gyro and made a bit of a mess of it so i thought i'd try to protect mine just a little to give it a fighting chance....

I just finished it and it's chrome so it's pretty strong.

    Here's the result....what d'ya think ???..

I'd be more concerned how long that lead to the cyclic servo will last against the tie wrap ??.

With the swash guide at the back, just infront of the gyro, do you think the flybar would be able to strike the gyro ??.

        Neat work though.

        Cheers,

        Simon

Looks a neat bit of work..but..with those 600mm blades wafting round at 2000rpm, not entirely sure that cage would do much good.

Interesting, and I hope you never find out!!!!!!!!!!:

              I'll sort that lead out.
It's not flying yet bcz i'm waiting for my new radio and RX to arrive so none of the electrics are routed or connected yet, but i can see that it looks bad.

              Thanks for the comment.

P.S. The cover was just a Sunday morning project, and it is nice and shiny..

The blades are 325mm. It's an SJM325. (450 class) but i suppose if the CF blades did get a full strike there wouldn't be much left to cover..
I think it deserves a few marks just for effort...
