  • How do you go inverted?

When I go inverted I like to flip my heli on to its back by using back elev but a comment was made that this is wrong and it is better to roll it inverted as there is less chance of piro during the move.

Any truth to this and which is better??

i prefer flipping forward... all depends which way you need to get inverted. ie nose or tail in. Obviously you cant go nose in inverted if you do a roll because to do that you then have to put a piro in when inverted. Self preference IMO. And really dont matter.

How ever you feel most comfortable, when I learnt nose in inverted it all started from holding the heli inverted at the top of a loop.

I flip into them now though as it looks better

For tail in, ill roll into it usually.

Trying to extend the top of a loop is the way I started. Seemed easier to be moving when inverted, it was when it stopped things got a bit twitchy. Also, you tend to gain the height before you go inverted as you are at the top of the loop, plenty of time to correct some mistakes.

            Cheers,

Back half flip or roll, depends on what I'm doing and where I am in the sky. I quite like tearing away from me down the field stall turn and then as I'm heading back towards me a half roll to the left or right, it looks nice and like I meant it.

Flipping forward is probably best as its safest because your pushing the heli away from you, so if all goes tits up, its not going to be near you, hopefully!

99% of folks do thre low inverted hover nose in.
this is becuase you should not get the elvator wrong (as the elevator is not reversed). The elevator is controlling how far the heli is from the pilot. Wrong roll is not so serious.

Look at all the Utube stuff and if you can find someone grinding the head button on tarmac, or blade scraping and cutting grass in any orientation other than nose in inverted you have seen something I have not.

I mostly get the heli inverted by doing a half loop. This is because it seemed like the natural way of progressing to it to me.

If I do it as a flip, however, I'll do it as a roll/ aileron flip; the reason for that is the heli then stays in its nose in or tail in orientation. As an elevator flip, not only is it going rightway up to upside down, but its going from nose in to tail in (or whatever) as well. Of course this is completely at odds with me starting off by doing loops...

Well at least I know the way I do it is ok... I have watched a few youtube videos of inverted flights and some of the guys did it the same as me.

I just find I can hover nose in inverted ok but just need to get used to the tail.

I back flip into to as it was easier whilst I was learing as I would keep saying to myself "if it starts going tits up just carry the flip on"

So it jsut stuck and as mentioned if a panick situ arises you will push the elevator stick away from you there for pushing the heli away

I learnt by rolling in from a nose in hover, and then either rolling back out or forward elevator to flip out (ending up right way up tail in).
