I have used a mac and the reason for me going back was it didnt suit my needs and the apple fanbois (my sisters bf mainly) made me sick of apple.
Not crushing you smooth or wanting a thread war but thats mainly why. id never move from win 7 because its pretty much a brilliant os and I like it very much.

We could go on all day about how much windows suck and how much apple sucks but its as we all know, down to the individual. Both systems have there pros and cons, I dont care about 'o but win 7 has this major flaw'. Till the day humans are non existant you can guarantee therell be Windows V Apple.

Pretty much why I stay the other way

PC's just break to easily for me. Ours is a nightmare, working fine today and tomorrow a different kettle of fish. The Macs just do the same day in day out

Purely because there coded on a very stable unix.

But also dont forget, alot of problems surrounding windows is drivers and support for all those different types of hardware, apple on the other hand has limted drivers and hardware built purely around the mac os, you have to respect windows for the nightmare of having to provide support for hundreds of hardwares.

macs have their place....but brits like an underdog so naturally they support macs.

Macs are good....but unfortunatley they are overpriced and will never grab a huge market share because apple are far to greedy.

Drop the price of a mac book to the price of a cheap laptop and apple would get a significant market share.

It's that simple.

Ive just ordered a Dell XPS 16

Will hopefully blow the socks off my ageing inspiron 1525 and comes with windows 7 which i'm looking forward to.

Life should get both clearer and faster hopefully!!

I've found there is no e-mail client (was using Outlook Express) so cant migrate my contacts.

download "Widows Live Mail", install, open and click on "contacts" (bottom left hand corner, once open click on icon in top right hand corner and it will open a menu to allow to do a number of things, one of which is "Import", you can import your address book there......

Apple is up to version 10.6 on my machine.

Never realised until now just how far behind Microsoft were.

Update now working well enough to keep in touch with the real world meantime. (or the idiot on the keyboard at least) Still a few things to get it to my liking. Might stick Firefox back on or anyone try Safari running on windows?
