Have a look for the 450 Sport.

I fly the 450 Pro, they fly identically apparently but they look different.

The KDS450 does get a fairly good write up in the latest model heli world magazine and it doesn't look bad to be honest, are you looking at this heli because it comes set up and ready to fly??? Paul is right though Century products are not looked on too kindly, main reason is poor spares back up. this constantly mentioned on the forums.

I agree with Paul that the Trex 450 sport super combo, Dx6i and a good battery would be a good start, if you have problems you will get a better response from the forum as this a well known and flown heli.

            Hope this helps

Origins of the Century KDS, not the worst manufacturer in China by a long way but if you've got the money...Sport would appear a very nice option.

If you want a ready to fly heli in a box then the best one seems to be the blade 400. comes with a Dx6i Tx that can be used to fly any electric heli afterward.
Probably a similar price to the centrury 450 you mentioned.

if you want to get into it seriously then a trex 450 either SEv2 or the current sport or pro models would be the go but you need to know about all the extra bits you need, unless you get a used one complete.

Take advice from this forum regarding any used purchase you might consider. when folks on here sell there is usually a string of complementary comments on the for sale thread - if not its probably not a good deal!

Hi Nigel, don't discount the KDS450 to quickly. It is way better than the Blade 400 and, at the very least, on par with the TRex 450 sport. Out of the box they fly real sweet and is more stable around the hover than the Trex, well at least mine is. It is also a tough little beast. One of my buddies has uprated the motor in his and can Chaos in our local sports hall at will, but he is just a little gifted.

Don't be put of by talk of no spares back up, Century UK hold the full range in their wearhouse. The reputation of poor spares service came from the range of Century USA machines (Raven, Predator, etc) where Century UK could not obtain any stock.

I agree - the KDS450 is a lot better then the Blade 400

As for spares - I, or any of my clubmates, have never had a problem getting any spares for my Hawk, Raven or Swift helis here in Canada - And only once had I ever had to wait for a spare I needed for my big Predator (two weeks). But we have also had similar, and much longer waits, for spares for our my MinAir, JR, TT and Hirobo 90 and gas sized helis.

I think a lot has to do with how often a seller orders from the supplier. Here in North America, we seem to have parts supply problems with sellers who require their orders to be shipped overseas in container loads. These take a lot longer to get to their destination then would an order that could be sent by lorry and be there in a day or two.

I believe delays for spares shipments will be also directly related to the need to make the order big enough to fill a container before having it shipped. Here you will find a seller may run short of a number of items, but not enough to fill a container. Consequently, he will wait until he requires enough items to do so. Unfortunately for those needing these items, they will not be able to get them from this seller and will have to look elseware.
