  • Have SJM gone Bump !!!

I ordered some parts for my SJM and the company have sent me an email ....

"We are sorry to inform that SJM stopped production recently and your order can not be fulfilled within short time. Would you please advise whether we should cancel the order? "

    Has anyone heard anything ?

The next crash could be the last.... BooHoo...

Strange because there's a few videos floating around of a new 600 sized SJM Pegasus. I used to have an SJM430 but I got rid of it because the spares support was dreadful. I think they just like designing and prototyping great innovative helicopters and then haven't got a clue how to market and support them which is a real shame. You could try contacting RC-Tek.com in the US -They are (were?) the US distributors for SJM. I think I read something about them moving production facilities so maybe it's just a temporary delay -who knows?!

Another thing you could try... there was a guy posting on here a few months back saying he was going to be importing SJM products to the UK -can't remember his name but perhaps he might have the parts you are after.

Here's one of the videos, from Jan 2010 so it would seem odd if they have gone bust...

I just took this from the supplier's website, so maybe it's just a temporary thing. I guess i'll just have to wait and see.

            Attention
SJM manufacturer is undergoing internal reconstruction and postpones supplies. If you are going to buy any SJM products, we are unable to ship them recently. Here we suggest you to hold off your purchase of them until we remove this notice. Thanks for your understanding.

I know most members here have Trex running through their veins and some have never heard of SJM, but for those of us who like to be a little different and have invested in SJM helis it is a concern as to weather or not we can buy spare parts.

            That's my rant over.......

What SJM do you have and how do you find it? I had endless problems with mine but not sure if I was just unlucky.

                    Thanks Adie..

Ok sjm lovelys, they are not going bust, don't panic, i have spoken to the at length. They have indeed stopped production for now, as they are having a house clean and moving production site. i have parts and plenty of kits here and crash kits so worry not, i am not visable online yet, but you can still get hold of me at iflewyou@yahoo.com, or call on07872592048.

                        Hi Vince
I don't think SJM have gone belly up, but spares might be a bit slow while they are reorganising.
                        In the meantime, try these

HobbyKing Online R/C Hobby Store :

I don't have an SJM myself, but have ordered loads from this company and their service is first class.

                        Hope this helps

                        Cheers

                        Jeff

                          Parts

                          Thanks Jeff...

I have used them b4 and their delivery service is quite good....the reason that i went elsewhere is because of price.... Hobby-Wing are a lot cheaper, but i suppose if they can't supply then it doesn't matter how cheap they are.. i will take your advice and see if they have any stock...

                          Vince

Hi all new to the site so please excuse me if i have put this in the wrong place.

The only company i can get spares from for my 3 SJM's seems to be a skyhobbies.

I mailed chris recently and got no reply, RC-Tek have removed all SJM's from their Site.

Luckily for me i have a lathe and some aluminium bar stock.

I really like my SJM360, bought 2 before they ran out of stock at Hobbycity.
Just bought an SJM500 V3 from ebay, Really nice heli. Although even that needed some tunrning to make a new canopy mount.

The only thing i can see wrong with them is that they do love to throw a bolt, i'm thinking of buying shares in locktite.
