  • has this ever happen'd to you

on this fine looking day, i got all my equipment together to go and fly my heli at my local field. when unloading my heli i noticed one of the plastic linkages was broken on the rotor head, so i put all back in the car and travelled to my local model shop. no luck with that so back home. typical

Thats is bad luck, but you need to keep all those spare with you to avoid disapointment.

Bummer! Not happened to me yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

I always take two helis to the field so I'd need to forget a Tx or something tho...

I went into London on a photo shoot a couple of years back. Got there and realised I'd left all my memory cards for the camera on my desk.

          Doh!

Nigel, think of it as a blessing in disguise.

At least you found the broken link before it became a pair of blades, a main / tail / feathering shaft, a flybar and boom.

Mechanical breakdowns are always a pain but it's even worse when your heli goes 'tech' inflight and dumps itself on the floor in an expensive yet untidy heap.

one possible cause is that while handling the heli, the washout base went off the guidance pins and locked there.

A couple of years ago I went to go flying and when I got there I noticed I had forgot my blades. Biggest pi55er of it all was the fact that the field was 50 miles from me.

Got to the field yesterday, was plopping about and noticed that something was wrong. Discovered that the mixture servo had packed in, which was why the copter was screaming lean. had a spare servo - a Futaba S3154 - which was too small to fit!!!!! Had to set the mixture the "old fashioned way", but at least I got 4 tanks in!!!!!!!!!
