  • fried speed controller ?

Hi all im real new to this so im not 100% if im missing something. My helli ( 450 clone ) is acting funny when i push the throttle forward the speed of the blades are erratic. They speed up and slow down A LOT. like it i have the throttle at half stick the blades will speed up -slow down speed up-slow down speed up-slow down . if i take it past half stick it will start to lift then drop down etc etc. almost as if im moving the stick up and down myself. and the speed controller is geting very hot to touch. Do you think the ECS is fried ?

ps my training gear was from a 600 size helli so really heavy, do you think this has killed the esc. Im not even off the ground yet just scooting and trying to trim.

I can tell you for certain it has nothing to do with the training gear. It might look strange but a 450 is more than capable of flying around with 600 size training legs (mind you, it won't handle too great but no problem lifting them, I did that myself with my 3DX 450 in the beginning).

You might check for loose or poorly soldered wires as I have had this problem myself with two motor wires coming loose, but the ESC getting hot does sound like it might be just the ESC frying out

ok just had another check after the esc cooled down. the throttle works ok for about 1min then the esc gets very hot the plastic covering gets very soft and the throttle starts doing strange stuff.

      Fried esc ?

ok dont know if you can tell anything from this. not sure if the esc over heated and cut out to quick or the battery went flat.

i re-charged it and tried again. I got to half stick and it seemed to be fine then it sudenly had a burst of power at half stick and jumped about a foot of the deck. like i had flicked on idle up. I sh1t me up and i cut throttle and turned it off. it was not controlled at all.

I have a new esc to try out when i get some conectors but what do you think. Still thinking ESC
