  • Astonishing build and amazing model

Huge apologies if this has already been posted, but if not it is.... just wow.

    Inhaltsverzeichnis

There are eighty something pages to the build.... all the time I am clicking through it I am thinking they are not going to risk putting that thing up in the air are they? Well, they do. Here is the video:

Just incredible craftsmanship, and a pilot that must have had massive balls.

The build on the web site is amazing - so much detail and so much time taken.

I have to say this must have cost a fortune, blimey the electrics and engines would need a mortgage on their own (the jetcat 200's cost about $5000.00 each - ouch).

Makes the budget for my heli's look a bit tame

I don't know much about planks - but I guess this guy makes his money from selling the rights to the models that he develops, and frankly he deserves every penny.

Thanks for posting - now I have to get back to doing some real work, I've taken far to long looking at this........

    Cheers,
    Simon

yes, took me nearly 2 hours just to skim through the 83 pages. I love the way that his son visibly grows up during the build. Where does he get the time from? How can any marriage survive that amount of time and money being spent on a hobby?

Incredible effort though, make my SR71 build look a bit lame!

I bet that within a 10 - 15 mile radius of where you live someone is building a 1 or 2 seat and possibly a 4 seate full size light aircraft in their garage/workshop. Truth is when you have a passion for something, you find the time and you somehow square it with the wife and family, with stuff like this you have to make it happen. Majority of full size builders in UK are just ordinary chaps, with an extraordinary dream.

A guy at my flying club is building a full size (I think 2 seater) plane. If I remember rightly he said he's been doing it for about three years!

Wow, that is amazing, I always thought germans used their basements / spare rooms for other stuff

Seen a few su27 at airshows and they nearly sound the same. The guy flying it did a good job and I loved the braking system on the wheels.

Yes. I got the kit from Austrailia in 1999, built it in my garage at home, first test flight June 2001, first full Permit to Fly issued after completion of test program in August 2001. Now done about 750+ hours I think (must update the log-books....). Paint scheme curtesy of Pink Floyd.

That's an incredible build! Left me very inspired! plus kinda gives us all a perspective of how short/easy our general heli builds are in comparison

I love the Flanker. Such an amazing jet. A bitch to shoot down in a knife fight from in an F-16C though!
