Thanks. There have been discussions about side-on. I would guess that you are right-handed, as you hover pointing left.

The trick is, with all manoeuvres, to make sure you can do them in any orientation - so I'm told, with my level of flying, I'm a long way off 3D.

Yes right handed I do practice both directions but pointing to the left seems to be better for me! I guess its practice practice practice and one day it will just happen! its a great feeling though when you finally crack a new move
      Cheers Paul

Yes, I find it easier (more natural) to have the heli pointed right, cos I'm left-handed.

As you say, it's a brilliant feeling when you manage a new manoeuvre.

I read this thread yesterday, and thought it was about time I tried it.
So today first tank, side in hovering, left and right. Getting better with my hieght too, trying to keep above 25 foot.
Landed, re fueled, had a fag, thought here goes!
Came to it, and I bottled it, its only 90 degrees I just couldnt do it
Heli came home in one piece so not a bad day. Gonna do it saturday for sure

It'll come mate, it will just click into place, do it at your own pace. i found by flying circuits i eventually brought it round into nose-in & got more comfortable with it and it just felt instinctive. keep some height so you can pull out of it if it starts to go wrong, good luck and don't prang it.

I bottled it a number of times before I finally did it. It's not a race, Sean, you'll do it when you are ready. Main thing is bringing the heli back in one piece.
