Well done Brian!.. Glad you're enjoying your progress after all the bad luck you had last year.. Its such a buzz ..

My first couple of times of nose in almost ended in disaster.. Just have an escape plan like Gate88 said and everytime you attempt it you'll get more comfortable.. not too comfortable though i once gave my heli a nose in command twice in one flight while it was tail in (i know, idiot )..

          Well done again mate

Guys, thanks for all your encouragement, and the helpful advice.

I must admit, I spent quite a lot of time on the sim just practising my escape route, as Guy (Gate88) says.

I can't remember who posted last year saying, before trying a new manoeuvre for real, make sure you have practised your escape.

                Sound advice!

Its an experience you wont forget so keep practising but always do small amounts such that you have complete control then before you know it your be taking off & landing nose-in.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

It certainly is! It's one of the occasions when you go home with a big smile on your face, as compensation for the times your heli goes home in a bin-bag (well, my heli does )

Once you have that nose in nailed and feeling comfortable with it, you will be surprised how much your confidence grows to move onto other manouvres

Another point to remember is that if you move on to fly 3d, keep practicing these flying building blocks. I know many 3d pilots who once "ticked the box" on this type of flying put all there effort into 3d. Now they struggle with the heli in these stationary positions. Keep up the good flying, the buzz you get never goes away, just harder to achieve.

Well, Tim, as you know, I'm really looking forward to a weekend with you and the guys. I'm a bit worried about the video, tho. I've never flown in front of a real heli pilot, so I might get stage-fright!
