Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to get a bit of input and advice from you guys. I am returning to heli's after a 2 year break (in which time I have been flying planks). I used to fly a Honey Bee FP and recently bought a Blade mCX.
I have a couple of questions about my next heli:
I am torn between the Trex 450 Sport Combo and the Mini Titan, they seem to cost about the same. given I will most likely have to learn to hover again I am unsure what is best. This is how I see them:
Trex 450 - Major brand and proven, all metal head and tail, comes complete with good quality Gyro and servos, loads of support and info online.
Mini Titan - Major brand but not as tried and tested as the Trex, plastic head, and I would put the same gear in it as the Trex uses, Gyros seems to be in a precarious position just waiting to be destroyed in a crash!.
Is a metal head a good idea when learning to hover? very expensive to fix.
Which one is more stable and cheaper to fix when crashed (notice I say WHEN not IF
)
I will be learning on my own at least for the near future. From the posts I've seen, my local club Hayling Heli's is over subscribed. But I am yet to contact them to confirm this. Hopfuly they might entertain helping a non member with setting up the first time?
Thanks
Chris
