  • Does my sig look big in this ?

In light of Stuarts post saying one of his pet hates was massive signatures, I have reduced the font size in mine

So now I'm asking the question.

Does my sig look big in this

Or is it too small to read now

    Or,Does anyone care

I think my sig is reasonably small as far as the size is concerned but the jury's out for me on whether it's distracting or no.

Not distracting for me! (but i am at work and so the images get blocked so all i see is some red crosses )

I have to say that I find it quite interesting what helis people have, BUT

I can't help but think that posting an up to date list of what you’ve got, on the internet isn't too clever! All you need to add is your address & your working hours and it’s like that TV advert!

It's difficult to judge a signature without being judged on your own, but one of the online definitions (shamelessly copied) of a signature is 'A distinctive mark, characteristic, or sound indicating identity'.

I'm not sure a list of your helis, the kit that's in them, whether their in good condition or broke, if you still own them or don't or your personal opinion about them makes a worthwhile or interesting sig. You can put all that stuff in your User CP.

EGS are regularly seen in sigs, so maybe Stuart could formalise the whole EGS thing into a row of stars that appear under your profile pic or something. Generally removing images (yes, I've got one) from sig lines can only help to speed up page loading.

In my opinion, many are too long, over complicated, uninteresting and a distraction, but hey, I'm a grumpy old man!

Sigs should be short and to the point, and say something about the user, not their equipment.

                  Now shoot me down!

Are you an Apple fanboy by chance, Steve?

I don't understand the logic the forum software uses to determine the bottom margins on sigs.

If you look at Steve's sig above, it has two differing margins - one a single line (post #9) and one several lines (post # 11).

It's defined by the height of the left hand column where your profile pic is.

The height of post 11 is determined by the bit to the left had side where the username is, as his post was not long enough to fill the gap

                            Did that make sense :s
