Fly-in

Hi all, would anyone be interested in a fly-in? it's all provisional at the mo but I am looking to have one towards the end of may/beginning of june time.

Just informal off the peg flying so any level of abillity would be welcomed.

It will located just south of sleaford, Lincolnshire. I have to have a chat with the site owner but I can't see any issues plus it is a mega site 2acres of flat mown grass.

There is a pub in the village which can accomodate anyone wanting to stay over night. Plus good place to end the day.

Let me know if you are interested and I will start the ball rolling.

I am open to suggestions to what you want out of a fly in so any ideas would be welcomed.

I'd be up for it, depending on dates and other committments etc etc

26th may or 2nd june if were to be on a Saturday

or 27th may/ 3rd june if it were to be on a sunday.

I would like to use the day that is the most convienient for the majority.

One thing that I would like to point out is that there would be no fee to fly as I have seen this at other fly-ins. Just usual proof of BMFA.

BBQ would also be looked into!

Good idea.

What about some trade stands and/or a swap site. Could be a great way to put faces to names. We should all be able to identify other flyers so we can meet up with those we have contacted from this site.

Great idea, but check overlapping dates with other events/shows around the same time. You don't want an empty field because you got the wrong weekend!

Clubman 3D is 20th May (weekend) this year.

Im definatley up for it, should be able to bring a few others as well.

Certainly recommend the BBQ as well.
When we have a fly-in, they usually charge £1 for burgers and 50p for drinks, to cover the costs, everyone seems more than happy with that.
Saves everyone trying to sort out food, especially if they have travelled a long way.

I think a BBQ is a must along with drinks etc.

As for trade I am trying to keep this as a fly-in instead of a 'show' plus logistically it's a nightmare...then again anyone wanting to sell things from their van etc I can't see a problem with that.

Looking at the dates I think June 2nd or 3rd looks more realistic!

Also meeting up at the pub after the fly-in could be a good round off to the day!
