After the Enya .19 and frame post I was searching for other vintage models and I found these extracts from the manual of aDu-bro Whirly Bird 505.

You just don't get manuals writen like this anymore.

Fantastic! Maybe we should go back to that training method, and have 2 volunteers with lines attached to the heli!

So you have two of your mates holding cables tethered to your helicopter standing 3-4 feet away from it? Ha ha. Count me out on that one!

I just googled it to see what this heli actually is. It's a very crazy looking thing:

Oops, 'have to figure out how to embed a video, I've done it before.

Hi jake, just realised where you live so you can take me out of the draw, thanks anyway.
Trillian if you check the original post there should be the manual and a video showing the heli on there, if i put it up correctly?

It's such a shame Youtube & video cameras weren't about in them days, I'd pay good money to see the carnage created by that training method!

                  Your wish is my command.

If you really want to know what it was all about in the beginning then go to the link below to show you the first helicopters to attempt to fly. These boys have gonads of steel especially the ones operating the 'fishing' poles.

PS its all in German as they were the leaders (wont use the german word for that though).
