If your mate has offered to pay for the repairs, that could be taken as parts and labour. When you take your car to the garage to be repaired, you dont just pay for the parts. Add to that that it is somewhere that may have a higher supply cost than our domestic suppliers and the inconviniance of not being able to fly due to someone elses fault.
Not in possession of the full facts, but that above could get you up to 850. If your mate said he would pay for the parts for the guy to fix it himself, that is less open to interpretation.Regards,

160 for a set of frames (219 if carbon)
30 for a main gear
24 main shaft
18+21 for a crown gear hub and gear
20 landing gear
14 tail boom
18 tail fins
24 torque tube
33 tail shaft and gears
12 tail hub
7 flybar
34 paddles
20 tail blades
110 main blades
30 clutch
80 canomod canopy
655 in parts alone, thats assuming a fairly large whack, maybe 725 if a new muffler and then there may be damaged servos or lipo too... 80 a pop for a servo?
Thats just normal parts, not the SE or any of the upgrades.
There is still a fair bit of energy in a hovering 90 size heli and we dont know the plane that crashed in to it, but I would suspect there is enough energy in the nose of the plane to easily do one side frame in.Regards,
Jason

just to throw a different slant on this. i once done £800 ish worth of damage to a raptor 50. EVERYTHING was gone. we are all guessing what was damaged, if it was bad enough to write off a lot of things then it could be bang on. we don't even know the airframe yet.
yes you can buy an super combo for X amount but if someone wrote off one my helis and said i'll buy you an LE then you would be in for a surprise because i'd want my JR servos, own reg/lipo/gyro/gov/blades all back again. perhaps this guy also had a lot of expensive gear in there that no longer works...we don't know.
more info required before calling the guys bluff for me.
cheers

Keep up Rob!Originally posted by Mart61 View PostUpdate:
Turns out the heli was not an Align after all, but a Synergy N9. Knowing nothing about the Synergy range and their associated costs, does this make the bill more or less feasible?

Mike,Originally posted by spunkmyer View Post£850.00 smackers have laugh somebodys taking the micheal. Its only a 500??
Do you know the price to kit out a 500 then mate?
Mine cost around this much.Ya can pay £120 just for a Revolextric lipo mate.then theres the servos at around £50 each if your using 9650's so that's another £150 then there's the RX £70,£400 for the kit. so were now up to...£740 and that isn't including the Gyro,Tail servo,canopy...considerably more if it's a Canomod etc,etc..... so it is well possible to have nearly a grand in a 500 if you bought everything brand new which I did.
Cheers Grant.

Thanks for all the input guys.
My concern is that a bunch of the heli may have been salvageable and not a complete write-off.
My mate, being a man of his word, said he'd pay for the damage and he's said he will, no matter what the cost.
