Hi Rick, hope the Raptor has treated you well

I saw that earlier, and looks alright for the money imo.

      Hi Rick,

Personally I think the airframe is fine but they've got the gear ratio wrong for efficient and powerful flight by ignoring the advice of some very knowledgable guys on here.

I've flown both the T-Rex 600e and Knight 600e side by side and the Knight feels more accurate on cyclics but has soft and soggy pitch even with the flipped blade grips. When using exactly the same power system the Knight fails to deliver the sustained power that the T-Rex does, ie the Knight bogs easier.

This observation was based on an 8s setup in both machines with exactly the same components.

The other factor is that the spares cost for the Knight is now quite expensive (when I last checked).

Having said that, both will outperform your Raptor (and most other nitros).

I know that Knight's are very expensive to buy new at the moment, so check out the current cost of spares, as that might swing your decision.

looks like a good heli for the price, the knights are good flying helis although i've not seen the electric one fly but i'd imagine it'll got quite nicely on 8s

wow - very quick and helpful responses - thanks for that.

I'll check out some prices for spares - may be worth just going for a trex 6 or 700 conversion?

I'll put the raptor on here soon for sale - in the meantime if you know anyone who might be after one let them know.

            Thanks again

My opinion would be to go for Align until Compass establish themselves and do something about their prices. You can get Align spares from the corner shop they are that popular whereas the Knight you have to go to WestonUk or Elite models, Rob at EvoRc has some spares left but that must be dwindling out now. I loved my Knight but had all kinds of trouble with the tail which I know was down to the hub but just couldn't get to work right.

I'm not a big fan of compass any more to be honest but that particular heli seems a real bargain considering what it comes with, plus spares are not much more expensive

Whilst I agree with trevor on the ratio issue to a certain extent. It all depends on how aggressive you are with your flying. I don't remember there being any issue of power at all.

I do remember feeling the weight distribution felt wrong to me for 3D, but it all depends on the type of flying you do. Sport flying it would be great.

My flying is only sport - don't do 3D so am looking for something that will fly nicely with a camera on board. Electric seems to be smoother - less vibration problems - well a bit less anyway!

Leaning towards the 600/700 though. Parts and parts availabiilty matter so maybe this is the safer bet in the long run.

                  thanks again guys.
