Yeah its risky mate buying second hand engines anyway...Was it broken in properly, has it been overheated etc etc...
I suppose it depends on the running conditions, user, Experience & trust... A lot can happen to an engine in six gallons Millsy thats probably over 50 tanks.
Cheers,
Gazza
We do not stop playing because we grow old...We grow old because we stop playing.
No worries mate I think You're being wise.
I've taken second hand engines in deals etc & recently aquired an OS91 C-Spec among some stuff I swapped with RaptormadSteve, but having had a heli off him already I trust the guy totally....But, I also know these things dont last forever either & if it failed after say sixty flights then so be it...It would be an unforseen event regarding both parties & C' est la vie.
But, if I was going out to pay cash for an engine I'd always buy new...You know exactly where you stand then
You pay for delivery - but don't worry about it - it's cheap as chips.
And don't let other people put you off with stuff about import duty - it's never happened to me, nor any of my club mates.
I had a delivery from him this week - 3 x 3152 servos, a 9254 servo and a 3001 servo - all for about £120 ish including p&p. Also had an OS 50 Hyper and a GY401 gyro from him as Christmas presents from different people with seperate individual orders.
Their prices are good and their stock is excellent, but the whole ordering process is very cumbersome.
I got as far as getting quotes for some stuff from them a while ago, but then got fed up with the process and gave up - went back to Neogl despite his more limited stock.
However, if you want a heli kit - JR Sylphide 50 for about £425!!!!!!!
Neogl all the way, never had any problems with him, very good service and fast duty free delivery every time
Stuff from Hong Kong isnt so liable for tax apparently, also he declares it as Hong Kong dollars not USD so it shows a lower value and he normally puts toy parts which is only subject to 7% VAT and he sometimes puts gift which is untouched
Dont worry about anything possibly going wrong with lost shipments etc,ive never heard of it happening
Pay by CREDIT CARD..This automatically covers you in any eventuality,,ie if you dont get the goods, you dont pay for them, its the credit card companies job to sort it or take the loss,,
