Recommend a 30 heli for me!

Been out of this sport for about 6 years or so.
Last machine was a baron 30S,webra 35,hatori pipe,gv01 govenor,CSM 540 gyro,carbon tail kit and some coreless motor servo on the tail that i cant remember, and instructed by a JR3810 which i loved...anyway @ the time it was a pretty hot 30 and i was doing some good 3D with it so thats my level i guess once i get a bit of practice in again.

A mate has bought a raptor 30 (to learn on) with OS 37 and some csm HH gyro etc.
I set this up and flew it and yeah it was nice but maybe not as impressive as i would have thought from all the hype about raptors.....feels the same to me as a standard baron from 99.
Is it just that having it setup for a learner it didnt reveal its true nature or have helis not really come on leaps and bounds in those few years as youd be lead to believe?

Anyway after setting up his heli ive kinda gotten bitten by the bug again and wondering what 30 people would recommend me to get.

It was set up poorly,,The Baron is ancient by todays heli standards

I think any 30 on the market today would slaughter it,go to a Raptor 50,Sceadu Evo 50,or a Knight 50 with an OS50 Hyper and modern radio and gyro and it will be a different world

But want to stick with a 30 though for several reasons.
Of course a 50 will have more power to weight and hence feel better but thats not what im after @ the minute.
Its not setup poorly either BTW!!...just for a beginner with soft throws and not screaming its pants off.
What is it that makes the raptor so much superior than a baron then?
Mechanics appear the same and it did come out around 99/00 and hasnt changed a whole pile since then other than more bearings which the baron already had...only thing i noticed is slightly more pitch range available and if anything the main gear and one way bearing were meatier in the baron.
A think a lot of people would still be flying barons if kalt didnt disappear that time.
So any other 30 machines worth looking @?

Raptor or Evo are the only 2 30's worth bothering with to be honest and having said that you are still better off getting a 50 version of either

OK maybe ill rethink on the whole 50 V 30 thing so.
Will have a look @ the Evo so.
I dont really care for stability which i would obviously get with the 50 so will the power difference be much greater?...and what about crash repairs...i never flew a 60 because when i used fly the cost of 60 parts would have put me off giving it a right good lashing in the sky and that would have been no fun.

Raptor 30/50 parts are the same except for a few, blades, boom, belt etc. Prices are about as cheap as they can be

Might look around for a 50 so...does it need more powerful servos on the cyclic?
