  • Smashed up the raptor!!!

I have had it for over a year and this is my first crash

I dont know what happened, I did some tic tocs, then came out to a hover and it just went over to the side, I had throttle and tail, but no cyclic. I hit throttle hold and down it went.

We could not see when it hit the ground, but after some looking we found where the blades hit about 5 meters away!!!

I need to find out why i lost cyclic, will test the servos later, but the front link to the swash is broke, which if was not caused by the impact then it could have broke doing tic tocs i suppose.

Most stuff is broke (blades, boom, skids, canope, most of the likages), including the plastic bit that holds the blades/flybar snapping in half!!

                All the servos are ok.

Its quite an old heli, and I got it second hand, could it just be that the linkage failed due to getting old and worn/weaker?

Sorry to hear this. It's the worst feeling crashing due to mechanical failure, I binned my Sport today as the ESC burnt out. Hope you get her repaired soon.

this repair bill will have to come out of my Trex 700 LE fund (and I was so close to getting it all!!)

I will add up what it will cost to repair, then consider my options, maybe it will be cheaper to get a second hand trex 600 or a Ely Q Ultimate (as its only £200 with blades)
