  • Piston liner? + Happy new year

Firstly happy new year to all!

Right i took a look inside my O.S 50 hyper yesterday as it was already out and i wanted to see if there was any obvious signs why it was down on power!
The only thing that caught my eye was a shiny line going down the bore, its not very wide but it goes from top to bottom and is not as dull as the rest of the bore (maybe more wear?) It doesn't feel scored or mis shaped in any way!
Is this a problem or normal?

Is it the piston ring gap? (you eagle eyed person you !). Most loss of power in nitro engines is due to piston ring wear. Throw another ring in, and it will be much better (Assuming the bearings are OK).

Just had another look and its not where the gap in the ring is,its the other side!
Ive got a new ring ready to go in,just wanted to make sure this wasnt a known problem first!

Sounds like your rear bearing is starting to come apart and it digeseted a small particle of metal from it.
