This is copied from a post on TrexTuning but thought it was worthwhile bringing it to rcheliaddcit as well ...
On the BMFA's website (British Model Flying Association) there is a thread about the Governments plans to alter some law or other so "There is a possibility that airfield space may lose its hitherto special status regarding planning permission to develop the sites because of a misworded planning policy statement from the Department for Communities and Local Government ...."
Basically this means airfield space can be bought up by developers and turned into housing estates and such. At the moment, they can't do this if I'm understanding it all correctly.
Here is the thread anyway http://www.bmfa.org/forums/index.php?topic=1027.0
In the first post is a link, where you can add your name to an 'E-Petition' if you feel you object to this.
A link directly to the E-petition is here http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Airfields/
It's an official petition on 10 Downing Streets website. It's very easy to do a takes seconds...
I know this won't bother many of us who just fly their Trex in the local park and say 'yeah, so what' but as time goes by there will be less and less places for us all to enjoy flying our models and more and more rules and regulations spoiling our fun.
Help to keep us all flying & having fun with our models & sign up...
