  • Blade mSR - DX6i settings

    Hi all,
Anyone have any good settings for the DX6i for use with the Blade mSR? Just got myself the bind n fly version and it's a hoot indoors - bit like the mCX on acid! I'm using the tx from my mCX but have a DX6i which I would prefer to use to keep the mCX setup. Any suggestions welcome. Currently using "softest" settings (not the longer swashplate links).
    Thanks,
    Herbie

I've got the throttle at 0-40-50-60-100, which gives better throttle control around mid throttle. I've also got 15% expo on Ail, Elev, and Rudder.

my setup for the mSR + DX6i is completely standard (apart from having it in "mental" mode)

I never thought to adjust any Tx settings. I'd be interested in the replies here

I've heard it has to be in aircraft mode and not heli mode as it is fixed pitch,Is this true??

Mine's in heli mode - no probs here. I'm using a DX7, but I can't see it making any difference.

I've read both TBH, Grant, so I just set it up in heli mode, bound it, and off I went, absolutely no hassle.

              BTW, I love it!!!!!

I just used DS6i stock heli mode and it seems fine, just a little less responsive than the mCX tx. Is it OK to increase the travel adjust value to more than 100%? There seems to be less servo travel with the DX6i, even at the standard 100% setting.

                    Ch5 ?

E-flite's Blade mSR Helicopter Review - What Makes It So Good? "Speaking of Tame or Insane... There is a very important section in the instruction manual (page 23) that I totally browsed over in my haste to go flying the first day I got my mSR. It has to do with channel 5 settings and talks about the reduction in cyclic servo throw (both aileron and elevator) by about 15% if channel 5 servo direction is not set correctly, or is not turned on and set to 100% of travel range. In short it is like turning on elevator and aileron dual rates if channel 5 is off or set to any value lower than 100% in the on position."

I read that too but not quite sure what it means in terms of the tx settings. Any simple guide would be much appriciated.

                        Me too!!!
My MSR is bound in plane mode but may try a new setting on heli mode...

I haven't got the manual in front of me, but as I remeber it, the multi-funtion (Rx, gyro, etc) unit looks at the Ch5 value. If it's ~100%, you get full travel on the cyclics. If it's <100%, about 15% is knocked off the travel.

IIRC, the Tx that comes with the Blade CX2 has Ch5 controlled by a pot/knob.

On a DX6i, it can be controlled in various ways. In heli mode, with Gyro INH, it should just be controlled by the flap/gyro switch, plus the travel adjusts set on that channel.

In plane mode, it seems that gear/f.mode changes ch5 - though it also looks like it can be programmed through the flaps option. (?)

Probably better in heli mode - though it may take more work.
The 'monitor' function allows you to see what value it's putting out.

                              Ok Folks ......here they are.

I loaded them into my Dx6i and I really did not know what I was doing,I had only had it for a couple of days and it is the first serious TX that I have owned.
I just got into the menus and punched in the numbers.
I was suprised and relieved at how intuitive the Dx6i was to use
I was really suprised and pleased at the results as my little MSR had previously been an almost uncontrollable entity.
Mind you it could have been the pilot
After loading them the heli was almost stable....a bit like its owner
Anyway good luck and let me know if you have the same results.

Anyone who feels the settings could do with a tweek please jump in with your thoughtsand join the party
