  • Learn to fly a real helicopter with a 60 minute flying lesson raffle intrest

I know we've been flooded with raffles on here of late so i thought i'd guage the intrest first before starting the ball rolling.

Basicly it's an unwanted gift, yes i love flying RC heli's but the real thing doesn't intrest me only because i'd love to go all the way and get a licence and that just isn't possible for me.

    Anyway the details ;

You are free to either sit back and enjoy the ride, or if you would rather, you can use your 60 minutes as a trial lesson.

Trial lessons are the ideal way to start that journey towards your helicopter licence, you can even take the controls during your first flight!

    Location

Buckinghamshire (South East), Blackpool (North), Liverpool (North), Coventry (Midlands)

    Agenda

After arrival at the helicentre your lesson commences with a pre-flight briefing. You will then discuss and plan a flight path of your choice with your own personal instructor, and then it’s time for take off!!
Your instructor will demonstrate forward flight, the art of hovering and the unique manoeuvrability of a helicopter before you will be given a chance to do some hands on flying of your own. At some locations you will be are presented with a commemorative certificate.

    Notes

the voucher is valid until September 2010. Your weight must not exceed 17 stone and your height must not exceed 6ft 4inches. Larger helicopters are available at extra cost payable directly on when booking. Tuition is usually in a Robinson R22 Beta. All training helicopters have dual controls so the instructor can safely demonstrate and monitor the handling of the aircraft. All flight time counts towards a helicopter licence should you decide to continue training.

The tickets would be price at £5.20 each, using the usual lottery number method as means of picking a winner.

So would there be 49 people intrested ?

Yes I know, however I have purchased off several well known members on here whom I'm sure would vouch for me if needed and I have sold on here before the rule changes. I'm also more than happy to provide contact details (obviously not in the post), BMFA No etc, or happy to verify my details with a moderator if it helps.

I'm the same as you love RC helis but have no interest in the learniing to fly the real things.

Yes they are spectacular etc but does not do it for me.

I would be very interested too.

Are there any rule on diabetics doing it? I have a feeling I wouldn't be allowed being a type 1

To be honest no idea, I've just had a look through the documentation and can't see anything, if i get enough intrest I'll call the operator and see if or what medical restrictions there are but none were mentioned when the gift was purchased.

Yes they do but it's at extra cost because you need to upgrade from the R22

I doubt there's any real medical restrictions on the trial flight. The instructor is technically in command for the entire flight.

                      I'd certainly buy a ticket!
