  • whats this heli spec like?

After flying a co-axil heli i want to move on and iv been offerd this at what ui think is a good price but i dont know what the spec is like , could you have a look and tell me what you think
    heli is a raptor 30 v2,
futaba 6exa tranny, futaba servos with Ace digital tail servo and futaba g191 gyro. Includes a full gallon of fuel and fuel pump. Engine is a thunder tiger.

Everything works perfectly and has only had 2/3 TANKS through it. I also fitted a volt spy for the battery and a remote glow lead

Spec looks ok, but you might wanna change the gyro and tail servo for something like a 401 or spartan with a 9650 or 9254(?) I think they're the right ones!
Trex 500ESP - Scorpion motor, CC ice 75 esc. Spartan Quark gyro, Std Align servos
    Knight Sport - Spartan/BLS251, Hyper 50, 3050's on cyclic, 3D mixer arms
Outrage Fusion 50 - Viper 700kv, 14t, Align servos, Spartan, 8s, Hobbywing 100HV. Maidened - Love it, set up to fly really smooth :-)
Gootch 450SEv2 built and flown, very nice heli :-)

Tranny okay but not the best... is 2.4ghz or 35mhz ?

What futaba servo's spec wise ?

        191 gyro not the best

and finally what price are they asking and anything over 300 pounds leave well alone
        200 - 250 is a better price.

I'm not sure to be honest, it might be ok, but I would change it to be sure. 401/9254 combo is about £150 ish, tho if you have a look around on the net you will find it cheaper.

To be honest mate it all looks good to me if its your first nitro heli. Ok maybe a few things need to be changed but if the price is right then get and sort these out later?

The 191 is a rate only gyro. It doesn't do heading hold.
That means it will weatger **** into wind when you hover. It will be almost imnpossible to fly fast backwards or sideways (Though the super-humans used to do it in the past I'm told!)

Why bother with the 401 when you can get a CSM SL720 for less money, include a DS620 for £37 and you've got a combo that beats the 401/9254 anyday. Or go for the Align combo the 750 and 620. The best advice I can give you is to join a club and include this in your budget. We are in Yardley Hastings so get yourself along and see what it's all about.

I can't find reference to a G191 on the Futaba site, they have a manual for the G190 but not the 191. The G190 was a rate mode gyro though and I am not sure anyone flies rate mode anymore (apart from me when I switch off HH)

You dont say what the servo's are, as such I suspect they are bottom end which aren't ideal for a 30 size nitro although will work for hovering etc. The Tx is 35MHz and the bottom end of the options available. the engine isn't ideal, OS are IMHO the best option for this size heli (32 or 37). The Raptor 30v2 is a nice heli for learning with though so its not all bad.

Personally I would walk away from this particular offering especially at £400, I would probably walk away even at half that due to the parts that would need to be changed out.
