EVA Air Boeing 747-45EM taking off from runway 36L at

    Amsterdam-Schiphol (AMS / EHAM) ( Netherlands ).

The great timing and angle just makes this shot,

and the size of the 747, looks quite surreal.

Someone must have changed his underwear after this one.

The distance to the fence was 145 meters

    (475ft)...JEZ....Yike s !

Not the way to start your route in the morning, eh?

I wonder if anyone computed the takeoff distance prior to the trip ?

Been to Schiphol airport myself taking pictures and stood on that very road.

Just amazing how close the public can get to seeing these monsters taking off and landing.

Fantastic pic BTW, One of the best I have seen.

                  Hi guys
what you are seeing here is a false perspective using a long telephoto Lens - the long focal length is 'compressing' the fence and aircraft together making an optical illusion the plane is in fact nowhere near the fence or cars

still a great looking image though

Can also prove how close these beasts are to us photographers.

Lots of togs go there on a daily basis taking shots.

If your lucky the pilot is close enough to wave at you.

If I was a pilot I would be having bets with other pilots to see who could actually make them dive out of the way screaming
