  • Starting your own club??

OK so I was thinking I would like to in the future start a flying club with a few other like minded people. The idea being we would all learn together and have a bloody good laugh at the same time.

Everyone would be treated equally men, women and children a real family type thing.

So obviously I would have to get somewhere to fly but what else what I need to do??

Anyone done this themselfs would appreciate some advice, like I have said this will be somtime off yet.

    cheers

Where abouts are you? Are there no clubs near you? Sort of know how you feel, there are just not enough heli-only clubs..........

i now the farmer where i opened the club and he used the field for hay which theres not alot of money to be made,
so i just ask about opening a club from there and he was quite happy with it but you also need to make it clear to him that you are opening a club
all you need is he turns around and says he dont want you there anymore
get a contract signed ups the best bet
                cheers

You will never know untill you find them! i know farmers having several in the family and game keepers etc some are the salt of the earth and some are shall we say set in there ways, the later you will know the second you meet them lol, most though are decent people who lets face it unless they own a gazillion acres arnt rolling in money (there are exceptions) so a club that will rent some land will often be a attractive proposition for them!
Funnily enough im going to be doing the very same thing myself soon, so if you want to get in touch then please do we can compare notes , i know 2 guys live by you im sure they would be interested in your club, if you would like me to pass details along just let me know.

                            Hi Alex,
Thanks for the info. After christams I will definitely get in touch so we can compare notes and nearer the time maybe pass on details to the 2 guys you mentioned.

Going to have a hunt around tomorrow for suitable sites and as near to me as possible. I am lucky in the fact that I am surrounded by fields in every direction.
