  • Recommendations for a budget heli

    Hi,

For my sins, I have to go over Luxembourg one a month or so and it would be nice if I had a heli to play with while I'm out there.

I already have a Trex 450 and 500 which are as we know expensive, but cheap to maintain....but another one does seem a bit extravagant for the sake of a couple of flys a month.

I've also got a Century Neon blaze (retired) and a Century Kestrel (a fail), which are cheap models but expensive to fix.

So I'm looking for a compromise - I can use the Tx, receiver and the gyro from the Kestrel which are actually not too bad.

    Any suggestions?

It doesn't have to be small as it'll stay over their permenantly.

I've also found that aiport secuirty can get quite excited when a transmitter goes through the x-ray machine :-)

        second hand 450 or a 450 clone?

Then you can take some spares with you and if you dont need them you can still use them when you get back

Thanks for that pointer - Blade 400 is 280 quid all in, including a Spectrum transmitter. Seems a better deal than the KDS which comes a rather nasty looking tranny.
