hey folks what magazines are use all buying and whats the best for heli content or is there a specific heli magazine out there on sale, going away back offshore on thursday so looking for some reading material to take with me..

I get RW for purely selfish reasons...

I will say that all magazines over time can get a bit stale. As a biker, I used to buy about a couple of magazines a month - Ride & Bike.

But, after I've bought them for a couple of years, I got a little bored.

• Best summer glove reviews
• Best winter gloves reviews
• Best summer jacket reviews
• Best winter jacket reviews
• Best bike under £3000
• Best bike under £5000
• etc
• etc

Things did get a little stale, so I stopped buying any, other than those that really had something in that I wanted to read.

It's for this reason that I'd never take out an annual subscription to any mag.

Also Rotorworld has a nice line in Mankini's this month.

The only issue I have with Rotorworld is that it seems to have the balance wrong between 90,50 size heli's and small electric heli's. Not that interested in contra-rotating heli's and once you've read about one you've pretty much read all there is to know in my opinion.

Could do with more how-to articles and less reviews

Without wanting to get into the "why not write some?" debate as has been going on in the BMFA News thread, perhaps a few of you should consider this as an option for RW or MHW.

There's a lot of expertise here on the forums that perhaps is untapped.

And the good thing? They pay you for them too.

I subscribed to rotor world, good mag but made difficult to read by the poor choice of colour of text on some backgrounds and pictures. The last copy was awful. Black text over a dark picture is a no no.

Not sure I'm going to renew, as said previously, too many rerviews on contra rotating stuff.

Looking in the latest isssue, it looks like the black text on the pictures were only on the article with the trex 500 in the 500 fuselage. In all, I think that the layout is still pretty good.

Have to agree though, that I am pretty fed up with contra rotating articles. I feel that this months front cover (Issue 45) is NOT a good choice of pictures. Enough to put anyone off who has any experience in rchelis, and is looking for some interesting articles. The cover is emblazoned with two contra rotating helis, a pico type heli sitting on a truck, Easyfly sim, and the MSR taking centre stage. Are they really just aiming at the complete beginner?!

Having talked about the cover, there are some interesting articles inside..

anyone think there is a bit of bias towards century models too? I do, although there are some good articles in there, especially the December issue on engine tuning, especially for a nitro beginner like myself.
