  • can i strip a 9254 servo

    hi all,
i took a bit of a hard landing earlier, took out a skid and a few teeth on the torque tube.
i was just checkin over the rest of the heli and noticed the tail servo aint right, seems a little notchy. i think the servo might have had a hit in that hard landing.
what i want to know is can i take the servo apart to check/ replace any gears?

if so any tips to taken it apart. iv got the screws of the back and the cover but dont want to force and break anythin.

    cheers Jon
    Thanks

Take the 4 screws out the back, and push the gear through the top case.

That way you wont pull the gearset out by accident...

(if that makes any sense )

Yes you can take it apart. As set of replacement gears is very cheap.

The 9254 is quite a notchy feeling servo anyway. You might not have noticed before. If you can't see any damage and it works throughout it's range, try moving it with the tx with light finger pressure holding it and feel for it getting weaker at any point. If it doesn't I would suggest theres nothing wrong with it.

                Lol

I can make several suggestion of things that are less painful to do than watching that tripe.
