    Maplins gear

    Three items I use a lot are back on sale again at Maplins, so I thought I'd post some links in case anybody else is after the same items currently... or perhaps the better half wants pressie suggestions

    And it appears to be free delivery until 30th quite tempted by a case for my old Tx - recently got one of their small flight cases to keep my 10CG safe, very pleased with it

      Bought a couple of cases and a couple of soldering guns, the cases are good quality and I have also used my soldering gun as well, well impressed with these a real bargin

        Might pick up a case. Don't really need it at present, but might be good for storing the mCX and mSR. Thanks for the advice!

            I cant see the case on your link Rob but I got this one after asking for one on here.

                Need to get me some digital vernier calipers. At the moment I'm using an accurate metal ruler and my eagle eye to measure rod length. Might take a run down to Maplins in Fratton/North End.

                While not the same B&Q do alu cases in variety of sizes some are flat like the flight case with dividers, and another is the cantilever type which is what both asamaro (Simon) and myself have. These cases are quite handy for things like parts and tool storage.

                Also I have some boxes like this that I brought over from Oz when I moved here, they come in handy for part storage:

                  Digital calipers also found in Aldi for a bit less at the moment - £8 I think, but under a tenner.

                      Just a note I've been to Aldis today and they didn't have any Vernier Calipers from what I could see so going there to buy them would be hit and miss.
                      Maplins are currently on sale for 9.99 so good value.
                      Halfords stock a set if there isn't a Maplins around for 19.99 and they're the same set that is sold for 31.68 at Toolstation but rebadged.

                        Been using maplins for years, It's one of them shops you go in for a look and always come out with something. A bit like my wife can't go into a shoe shop without spending money. Maplins always have something i NEED, lol

                            Just been to town to get one Awesome! Really good for £15, Warringtons got loads of stock about 15 ish, so if your passing though get one!
