  • Spectrum 6DXi - Trim Pot Failed

Keep an eye on your Spectrum 6DXi Tx - Trim pot in my Tx failed - it only allows me to adjust to the right but will not go back to left!!

Fortunately it happened while I was trying to power up my Trex Pro . Yep, my Tx was among the "Recall Batch" and it was checked by Spectrum.

Speak to Horizon Hobby in Harlow. They are very helpful and will probably fix it FOC (or at least send you the spares) they did for me.

Yup, have had my DX6i for about 18mths, and recently had 3 of them go. But Horizon sent me some spares by return free, no quibbles. Easy repair too.

its quite a common fault. whip the back off and the small circuit board that holds the two micro switches has probably worked loose.
i fixed mine by dabbing a blob of hot glue in the holes and then re securing it using small fibre washers under the screw heads. (the washers were from a dremel accessory kit. the ones that hold the cutting wheels to the spindles etc)

With mine, it was with the rocker inside the switch case, where one of the arms had fractured and was not able to apply force to the micro-switch.

Yep I had the same problem its a known design fault with the rocker. I think they have now changed the moulding to put a bit more material near the weak point. I had the rudder trim fail so I just took the back off and switched it with the throttle trim. My unit is under factory recall because of the dodgy pots so ill be sending it back soon and will get the trim done at the same time. I have been putting it of but its so bad in phoenix now that the rudder drifts all over the place and its un-usable

At least the guys at Horizon have good cust serv. Hope you get it sorted. I presume that the DX7 uses the same trim switch system, what about the X9303/DSX9?

                Up date :

Got in touch with HH, yep they agreed that it is a common fault and two trim switches are on post for me. John also gave me an oral manual () "How to replace the trim switch", a simple job () so I'm feeling good

                Thanks for your help guys.

                Cheers

I have this on my DX7 rudder trim. I dont use it, but if i knock it by accident to the left, I cant trim it back to centre.. Doh.

Will give HH a call tomorrow.

Sounds like the same thing as with my DX6i.
