Do you know anywhere with any information on the conversion?wiring diagrams? Could be tempted to try it to save having to keep buying AA batteries.
I started up the 600 today for the first time! the engine runs a treat and didnt need any adjustment!Running it on optifuel 20% just need some good weather to maiden it now.

Is it me or is that just completely pointless.

That tiny 2S lipo can't be more than 500mah - I use 4x2100mah Nimh+ rechargables in my DX6i and it runs for hours between charges so why would you rewire the tx to use a lower capacity lipo?

Its not like the Dx6i is heavy and the weight saving is an issue ?

That lipo would rattle around when holding the tx which would be very distracting.

Pipistrelli did a thread on here a few months ago - the conversion is simple enough. At the time, a number of clubs, on BMFA advice, wouldn't allow any Tx with AA type batteries held in by clips, on the theory that the batteries were more likely to come adrift. Since then, the BMFA have changed their advice, so it's a bit of a pointless exercise.

I did it to my DX6i at the time, and I sold it on with 2 850mAh lipos. It was totally problem free, but as I said, now a bit pointless.

Maybe its easier to run it on some good quality rechargeable AA batteries

Totally agree. The Linier voltage reg in there dumps extra voltage as heat. If you change to a switching voltage reg, it only allows enough current through that is required. This can double your time on battery use.

Yes it is, now. If I still had a DX6i, that's what I'd do.

That was my TX and conversion. He bought it off me earlier in the year.
