Iv just fired up the Align 50 hyper for the first time, hoping to maiden it when the wind dies down. The engine is setup nicely but i have noticed when iv just checked over the helicopter that there seems to be some metal filings from the top lock collar. I have put some aluminum bearing blocks in it to replace the plastic ones. Any ideas?

not sure which way that is without looking at mine, but the top one the should be in place so that the bearing itself would go into the block from the top.The screws go in from the underside and pull the plate down on the top.
If you see what I mean
All the best

Mine is the same as this..
EDIT: Unsure now, Both the bearing caps face the top. From the picture in the manual the lower block should be upside down?Attached Files

The 600n must have both bearing blocks the same way up.Originally posted by jskdog View PostIv got the align writing facing upwards on the top block and downwards on the bottom
There lies your problem mate.
The 700 has them fitted the same way you fitted yours now. Upper bearing facing up, Lower bearing facing down.

Well, the upper bearing block has the bolts coming from underneath, so the clamp ring is on top. The lower bearing block has the bolts entering from the top, so the clamp ring is underneath.
Surely though, the bearing blocks can only fit one way as the locating lug does not appear to be exactly in line with the 2 bolt holes for the frame bolts? It is offset. Or is it my tired eyes??

So Tim, the clamp ring should be on the upper side with the bolts coming in from below for BOTH bearing blocks. Yes??
If Tim is correct, and they are offset, then my kit came with the wrong parts, and I am sure I will not be alone!!Last edited by coptermanic; 26-11-2009, 09:32 AM.

And when you compare the image on page 10 of the manual with the pics of the components, it looks as if the bolts come from the upper side for the lower bearing.

Maybe it's my old eyes, but the lower bearing in the manual looks as if it is orientated like the right image on the web page.
Hate to be harping on, but just want it to be correct for ALL of us.
