What a great bunch you are, I recently posted a tread requiring information on the whereabouts of a JST charge lead adaptor and was given one by one of our members, thanks were sent after it arrived and I was a happy lad, recently someone was enquiring about longer bolts for his muffler as the originals had stripped,in the spirit of the forum I offered to send him 2 FOC but heard nothing, but another member contacted me and asked if he could have 2 as well, I duly obliged and sent him 2 bolts with nuts first class post. I have not heard a thing since. It would be nice to have a thanks or just let me know they arrived safe.
Will I offer anything in the future FOC ! I dont know.
    All the best STEVE.

Thats life mate i'm afraid. Manners cost nothing whatsoever, and even just a note that says "Thank you" is enough to know your efforts have been appreciated.

Does make you think is it worth bothering at times.

Well, just to play devil's advocate for a sec, it could be the slow postal service right now and perhaps they have not yet arrived. I have been waiting for stuff I bought from shops and a forum member and it's getting on a week or so for some of these items.

Good point but in this case I am talking 3 weeks.

I'm with Trillian on this one. I have had many things given to me on this forum and whilst I always thank the person for their generosity at the time the offer is made, I don't post further thanks until the items actually arrive.

Also, as the person offering the favour is effectively doing you a favour, one doesn't feel at liberty to chase them.

As such, some of the forum member's that have been generous to me have shipped the items the very next day, other have taken a while and I have no issue with that.

Finally, and this is me playing "devil's advocate". Whilst the act of giving is normally followed by the thanks of the receiver, is it right to expect thanks? Whilst it's nice to receive thanks, one might say that giving should be
a selfless act - where you simply give because you want to and you should expect nothing in return.

I would say that you should continue your generosity. This is most likely a one-off and should be considered as such.

            Just my two cents.

Mind you, having said all that, there are one or two ungrateful b*st*rds on here too!

I've done this on here before and sent some bits out. Never got any acknowledgement or thanks that they received the parts until I emailed them to make sure they received the bits..

..Haven't seen them on here since.

Most ppl on here i'm sure would give a big thanks though.
