which lipos do you use?

hi lex dont know yet as the weather has been crap and it dont look good for tomorrow either.

can you put down multiple choices as i use several brands all for different reasons and also its hard to show a preference unless you have tried different ones.

Dont its bloody depressing isn't it , multiple choices are fine i think it would be better to rename the poll to which packs do people use rather than favourites its just to complicated that way.

I have one stock eflite battery for the b400 and a Revo red label 2100 3s red label (think it's 18c). Mattie recommended it to me.

To add to my original post,i also use Winforce,Loongmax 25 and 30c,Zippy flightmax and Hyperion.

All of these have been good to some degree and are all giving good performance but the two brands that stand out for not only performance but customer support are Maxpoly and Revo.

I have not tried the newest Maxpolys yet but my original 5s ones are now knackered,the newer desire cell 30c ones are doing very well still but my strongest and oldest packs are Revos.

So from my experience the best all round package has been the Revos,they are not the cheapest but they have stood the test of time.Maxpoly are a very close second to them and in the future i would like to try their newest range.

Its certainly very interesting looking at the results so far from the poll, attitudes here are most definately different from our heli flying friends in the states! NO bad thing!
There all they seem concerned with is $$$ with zippy and turnigy wining each time by a landslide! Not saying they arn't good but its nice to see we make a more balanced judgement on what lipos we use and why.

Id love to get the poll up around 100 votes if possible, could get a better comparison to the other polls that way, once i feel there's enough comparable data ill post up the results from all polls will make interesting reading.

The main factor in lipo choice imo is the skill of the pilot.

Im sure the results will show how advanced the pilot is more than how good the lipo is. I would have thought there are more people who are learning/good pilots, compared to hardcore 3D pilots who need the extra power.

For example; I can loop, flip, roll etc and would rather have a Rockamp than the Zippy packs that I am using. This isnt because I think the Zippy pack is good, its just capable of my flying ability and saves me a few ££.

i have hell of a mix of lipos between 3 450 size helis, maxpoly, longmax, overlander extremmes, overlander standards, rock amp, turnigy, thunder power, and a couple of unbranded ones.
The best for power are the overlander extremmes, but i have had a couple puff up on me, so not the most reliable.
I actually quite like the longmax lipos, good power and for the price seem really good value, also the turnigy is also very good on power and at about 18 quid a lipo, a bargin.
The rock amp, the most expensive one out of the bunch i am quite disapointed at, not to impressed with the power and seems to drop off early.
From now on i will be getting all my lipos cheep from HK, don't see the point in spending lots on expensive packs

I use "Winforce" 6S 3000mah 35c
So far so good, packs come down cold from the standard trex 500esp with 100% and light 3d.

I guess i'm also of the opinion that a choice of lipo can come down to the skill of the pilot. I personally feel that most available packs, especially some of the HK packs are far more than capable of using it to learn to hover, circuit/sport flying to learning getting into 3d.

I couldn't really see the point in a beginner buying a premium £50+ pack for a 450 sized heli, when he'll probably be able to buy 3-4 HK packs, and spend more time learning the basics.

In my experience, some of the premium brands tend to hold onto the power for longer throughout the flight and come down cooler...Therefore hoping they will outlast the budget brands in cycle life.
