  • Somerset Sunshine Sunday!

Well as planned the lads all got together today and the sun was shining on ourfield for a cracking day

In attendance were Myself, Moonmanflyer, Adrian, Geek, Boggy, Thee6ty, Mrs Lane, Steve, StuSmith and James lads Ashley and Harry

Great weather for November and we all got stuck into some flying with everyone well in the mood... except Geek who was whinging about feeling rough but managed some of his best flying yet!!!!..... sooooo smooth

Really good to meet Rich (Three6ty) who finally got to get down for a days flying and looked to be enjoying his new 600NSP

James flew his socks off as usual but forgot that helis need to land at the end of the flight!!!! The Aurora and Velocity both fell like dead ducks following an iffy inveted auto with the 90 then running the Velocity dry of the red stuff!!! Oooops He he.

Stu smith was just insane as usual.... can't beleive all helis survived as he was determinned to go all the way to the edge but only the farmers field got a pasting, the helis just bounced off the floor and into the next move!!..... awesome. The ELY Q was crying out for mercy with some funny noises but just carried on. Most of us would have retired to the bench but not Stu.... it got the full treatment despite being midly ill and seemed to lap it up

All in all a great day full of action, thrills and spills and good banter.

    Just the Job lads

Was a good day mate, you were also flying your socks off, some of the best flying i have ever seen you do mate.
It was great to see all the chaps, and one lass, Can't forget you mrs lane...lol
Yeh the Aurora is a bit sick, in need of a new frame, the velocity is ok and a quick undercarriage leg change and all is well, bar a missing link, on order, i was just bringing it in inverted to flip out and land, 5 seconds to late eh.
Everyone was flying well and wellies were the popular choice of the day.
A big up to Rich for making the trip and having a blast on his NSP, mark was getting all sentimental seeing his old bird again.
Stu, that boy is nuts, let him have a go on my velocity and he liked it.
He was trying to kill the elyq comp, but it just didn't want to die, was making some very funny noises by the end mind.
A great day, lets hope we have another good day next weekend
      James

            Hi again,
Was a great day indeed. I've said it before and I'll say it again. What a great bunch of guys. It's a great feeling to be made so welcome. It's always difficult as a newbie to mix in with the more experienced but being made to feel so welcome really inspires to learn and be as good as the other pilots flying.
I've recently been getting a lot better with my 450 but felt a little nervous today maidening the new 600 nsp and their was a bit of a breeze at times to. Just gentle hovering, 8's and a couple of piro's. But it flew nice and solid so was very pleased. I now need to start doing some of the things I can do in Phoenix. Just need to grow some balls.
            Cheers fellas and thanks.
            Rich

What is great about this hobby, is you can take guys that are in the top ranks in the country, (and better sometimes) put them in a field with a newbee, and they will do nothing but give encouragement. Yes there is a banter between people, but as a stranger or relatively inexperienced flyer visiting somewhere, you are always made welcome.
There cannot be that may other types of sport/hobby that can say that.
Keep it up guys, it is what makes this so good.
