dialogue today at the flight line:
    - did you set a timer?
    - uhhh I think not (that's me)
    - I think you really should check
and in mid-sentence, my 600 NSP ran out of fuel.

the heli found itself a nice spot to auto down (dry!!). Still, I had to cross 100 m of swamp to retrieve it.
And my shoes went straight into the washing machine

Could have been worse, Heli could have gone in a bin bag

Well done for getting it down safely

I am so not used to using the timer feature. I always had so much flying time on a tank with the Raptor 30 and I just bring it down where I can see the fuel tank. But I got caught off guard slightly a while back with the Raptor 50, one minute I thought there was a 1/2 inch of fuel and then it started running lean. But I was able to start bringing it in and only about 12 feet up when it cut out so nothing difficult about autoing from there. When next I fly it I'll get a time (if I remember) when the tank is getting low for future reference.

i use a timer when i fly the planes (well one plane at the moment) because you cant see the fuel, i land after 10 minutes with the 50cc extra (left) and still have half a tank left. but with my heli its not become much of a problem anymore because i kind of know the flight time and can now see it alot more during the flight. but setting a timer is a difinate disaster preventer

what happened to the fuel pipe? did the clunk just come off?

because the last time i had a heli cut on me was with my 600 and the cilicone tube inside the tank had actually perished inside the tank and i could snap it by just squeezing it.

has anyone else had this happen?

The fuel gradually degrades the hose, I usually replace mine at the start of eacn year, and use normal hose for clunk line not thinner hose as sometimes comes in the kits.
