  • shoot me now :D

well it's soon gunna be that time of year again and after xmas i'll want a new heli (got something for xmas already)
anyhow, i was wondering whats being recomened atm
currently fly blade 400 so looking to go bigger but what to?
had a few ideas already but was wondering what you guys were recommending atm
obviously theres also the new models coming out...synergy n5, align 600 v2?
also not sure what size and (here's the shoot me now question) leccy or nitro
i have a list of heli's to consider it's not even worth putting them all up here but to give you a taster of what im looking for:
    trex 600pro
    trex 600LE
    trex 600nsp
    velocity 50
    elyq competition/ultimate
    raptor 30
    trex 500nsp

total mix there but im basically totally open apart from i would like to go bigger but not as big as 90 and still undecided on the leccy/nitro issue

im sure all the knowledge from you guys will help me greatly

    thanks very much
    Matt

raptor 30!! Cant really give an educated reason, other than I have one and its the first nitro and only nitro I own, I find it stable to fly setup right, and that was going from a neon blaze!!

          cheers

but you need a 90 to go with the sdx50
so for the 90 a turbulence ex

Vision comps are vry good and very well priced, but decent servos are must cost its direct to swash, but i do know sonebody selling a 600 pro with lots of spares and upgrades.............

ElyQ, and consider it a throwaway heli. Use it for learning - it's butt ugly, take no prisoners

I resent that, the comp is vry nice to fly, stable but very quick, but yeah, does need a paper bag lol

wicked sounding like the 50size nitro's the recommended way to go then

but theres so many to choose from in that class

Awe, that's harsh. I really like my Vision ultimate. I also think my colour scheme works to downplay the shape of the canopy (but having said that the nice glossy painted ones they had at 3D masters last year looked very classy IMHO).

My 2 cents worth would be that any from that list will be a nice change from the blade 400. With the 500 you'd have an investment in LiPos (and possibly charger depending on what you have now) vs an investment in starter and fuel pump etc. for the nitros.

yer this is what i was thinking about

if i stay leccy i could get a better charger for batts (blade and new nd wing for xmas) but then if i go nitro i dont have to wait fot it to charge

oh how i love making decisions

I'd get any of the Aligns you've listed

                              Edit:
My reasons for saying this are as follows:
                              - price - for what you get they are, IMHO, hard to beat
                              - availability of spares - they are all over the place and, whilst some parts do get scarce on occasions, I have read a number of threads relating to other brands where the spares seem to be like rocking horse poo
                              - used stuff readily available - they are always popping up for sale on here
                              - wealth of forum experience - when you have a question to ask on an Align product, you can bet you'll get an answer on here quickly

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.
