Hi Paul, I have actually put the receiver on the side of the heli. The Vbar unit is underneath the main shaft. The satellite has been put on the underside of the heli.

Can't recommend it enough....and it looks and sounds great too.
So how do you find the gyrobot? and is it as good as the VBar? I would ideally myself try and stick to one brand, but if it is good, I may take a chance and try one..should a s/hand one come up

Thought you must have done something like that Andy.

I've got two Protos and looking to convert one to flybarless, but although I think there maybe just enough room under the mainshaft if the mainshaft locking collar comes loose the shaft will crush the vbar/rx unit!

Could go mini vbar but I like the idea of the full size unit so I could move it to a bigger model in the future.

Also gonna wait for the Align and Curtis Y units to arrive before diving back into flybarless!

        Cheers

LOL.. I think your flying is quite more aggressive than mine, and would understand your concern

I'm thinking doing the Logo500, but no real rush..as I have the Protos. I would also like to see what is coming out from align and curtis aswell. Wondering if the Align unit could bring the cost down, and bring it more to the masses

The GBot is excellent and as rock solid as the VBar, but both systems have their own advantages.

I would suggest both are at a level with each other and are the top two of any others currently on the market.

I have flown quite a few helis with vbars over the last year or so including larger electrics with v4 installed. However I have found it hard to adjust to the feel of large electrics so I've never been comfortable with them even with the latest software.

ChrisB very kindly let me fly his V-BAR'ed TREX600 last weekend and I was really surprised. It felt great! The tail wasn't spot on but we think that was because the engine was very rich as he was running it in. However the general feel of the heli was much better than I expected.

Considering how inaccurate TREX 600s are normally this thing flew like it was on rails.

In my case I have a second TREX700 that I would love to convert to flybarless but I keep hearing stories of sensors failing which is enough to prevent me from taking the risk atm.

Chris has invested a lot of time into this and he is clearly loving the V-Bar. Definitely of great system, although just be aware they do occasionally have sensor issues.

                    Richie

As soon as we get a decent weekend i can get the OS55 tuned up,i am sure the tail issue was the rich running as you said although surprisingly it does not seem to affect the cyclic side of things, something i was kind of expecting with a rich engine so it must be a torque/power deliver issue on the tail.

You are very welcome to have another go on the model again and as always i really value your input on things.

I agree on the feel of the 600N also,i have always liked the feel of the Align flybar heads personally even if they are not the most accurate but the model is so much more enjoyable to fly now.

Hell it even makes me look a half decent flier

Note: An insight gained from reading the vstabi forum - On a 600 with push-pull linkages, it's usually necessary to use shorter servo horns. That is, unless I really want to use 3000 degrees of cyclic pitch range. The abovementioned "cyclic gain" calculator on the vstabi page answers the question without any guesswork.

I'm just about to write an article about converting a 600N to v-bar using the outrage flybarless head. I'm still not convinced by flybarless but I've only tried two axis units so far, so maybe this is the turning point..........but at £300 per unit I expect I'll be sticking with flybars.
