  • Align Super Starter

Hi I need a new starter and field battery I brought a £25 job from the local plank shop it lasted about a month before breaking but I have cut the clips off and soldered deans on so the chances of me getting my money back is going to be slim...

My field battery is not big enough to either 12v 7ah gel type.

As I have a couple of spare batterys for the 450 so I wahat I want to know is the Align Super Starter worth the extra money?

Not used one myself but heard good things about them. Just be warned that the battery compartment is a bit on the small side so check first whether your existing Lipos will fit.

The 1 I have in mind is an Align battery that came with my 450 s so I would hope it fits... but thanks for the warning

The manual for it says max dmensions are 112mm length and 35 X 24.

I found most of my LiPos don't fit but have one that does and hopefully that will be enough.

I have been using a JP starter with deans attached and one 3 cell LiPo and that has worked fine. I got the Align starter because it is very compact and also in hopes of it being able to more easily start bigger engines. (plus I like having the hex starting shaft mounted securely on rather than the old jamming into the plastic insert routine).

But.... I'm not selling my old starter just yet until I really see how I get on with the Align because
that battery compartment issue and the placement of the deans inside the lip of the compartment
do annoy me a bit, so maybe I'll love it and forgive those little niggles, we shall see.

Yes the Starter is great and the Align Lipo will fit too
I left the hobby 3 years ago and discovered Women.

          I wish I never left.

Bought one at the Champs in September complete with an Overlander 2200 which fits just fine. Very happy with it so far. Starts a 90 no problem.

Mates got one, does a 90 just fine, very impressive little starter, his ones got the aligns own lipo in it, which obviously fits.
                All the best

I bought my align starter on Saturday, decided to go down the SE Combo route LOL, in other words complete with align lipo. It starts my 700 with ease and to be honest the first time I used it, it almost spun out of my hand cos it had so much tourque. IMO it's terrific but I guess you'll have to ask the same question in six months time for a edjucated opinion.

Yeah, the switch only take a very light pressure as well. The first time I tried one out at the field it caught me off guard
