He is the Judge i reckon

So it doesnt get blown out of proportion, the idea was to be able to simply fire your engine up at home to make sure it runs OK,no fuel supply probs and it doesnt throw the fan if its new which is bloody annoying if it does it at the field

Removing blades,if reqd is simply a backup safety feature, depending on which way you look at it of course,as they are not needed as of course you are not planning to hover it or anything..

        Either way ,its cool

i would say that having the blades on is safer than without blades. as i described earlier on.

it gives you something extra to hold onto.

without blades, once that clutch has stopped slipping there is no way your going to to stop it without stopping the engine through other means.

ever had a dicky clutch that had cracked and would drag? You can hold onto it fine when you start the engine but try getting those blades to stop after a flight.

In my opinion (which don't count for much round here or anywhere realy) I don't think it's that good of an Idea. It's not THAT unsafe in the grand scheme of things, but the potential to do damage to the engine and cost you cash is higher than if you don't run it, also with no load on the potential to overspeed the tail and have it shed thing's like belts and blades as well as over stressing the bearings don't seem that clever to me. Unneccesaryryry risk's and all that. Saying that, I have run mine in the back garden on idle up with -4 degrees of pitch and a healthy head speed so who am i to talk.
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

            And a DX8 too
