My first (almost forgotten) taste of helis.

Hi All
I was going through some old crap and binning stuff and I found these old photos. The year is about 1991 / 92. It was near Lower Box Hill Farm (one of Epsom model clubs fields I think). I remember it having a mechanical gyro as you could hear it spinning up. I remember having a go as well (badly) with Graham standing behind me and looking at the heli over my shoulder with his arms around me and his thumbs on the top of the sticks ready to take over. Now that's Buddy Box flying but without the box

Luckily, it didn't get crashed while doing this but Graham (the guy in the photo) did crash it later when the gyro battery went flat I think.

Can anyone identify the heli?

Does anyone know Graham?

is it an old Schluter (sp??) heli boy? as the frames look like they are a Schluter (I used to have the Heli star a good few years ago, and they look very similar (if not the same the frames that is, as the heli star had a different canopy and was collective pitch)
Reason I think its the heli boy and not the heli star is that looking at the photos, it looks like it was a fixed pitch heli.

I was going to say Schluter Miniboy..Ohh well

It was the seam around the canopy that schluter were so famous for in those days.

Quite an old machine even in those days.

Don't recognise Graham though.

I met Graham at college and we got talking about models once and I went down the field to watch. Looking back, knowing what I know now about flying helis, I am amazed he let me have a go.
Who would have thought a dozen or so years later I would be flying helis myself.
